Key Responsibilities
- Installed, configured, and commissioned physical and virtual servers, operating systems, business applications, and virtualisation platforms in accordance with client and industry standards.
- Performed server rack installation, structured cabling, power distribution, fibre optic and copper network connections, and validated data centre environmental conditions to ensure optimal system performance.
- Delivered preventative and corrective maintenance, including hardware diagnostics, firmware and software upgrades, performance monitoring (CPU, memory, storage), vulnerability assessments, and replacement of faulty server components.
- Provided onsite technical support, troubleshooting and resolving server, network, operating system, and application issues while liaising with development teams to minimise service disruption.
- Supported application deployment and infrastructure integration by conducting technical impact assessments, implementing deployment plans, and coordinating with software development teams.
- Administered user accounts, permissions, and authentication services, including Active Directory and LDAP, while implementing security policies and access controls.
- Collaborated with network and telecommunications engineers to configure VLANs, Wi-Fi infrastructure, routing, and switching, ensuring seamless integration within enterprise environments.
- Produced comprehensive technical documentation, installation procedures, system reports, and operational handover documentation.
- Delivered field engineering services across enterprise, public sector, financial, manufacturing, and educational organisations, maintaining high service standards and meeting strict project deadlines.
